Copyright Notice & Takedown Policy — Pure Golf Journal

Last updated: May 19, 2026

Pure Golf Journal ("Pure") respects intellectual property rights. This page explains how course imagery and information appear in the app, and how rights holders can request removal or correction.

Course Imagery

Pure displays photos and descriptions for golf courses to help users browse, rate, and find courses. These images may come from several sources:

  1. Freely-licensed media — primarily Wikimedia Commons and other Creative Commons / public-domain sources, used in compliance with the applicable license
  2. Course operator websites and press materials — where used, the image attribution remains with the original photographer or course; Pure uses these in a small, editorial capacity (course preview thumbnails) and links back to the course's official website
  3. User-submitted photos — photos uploaded by Pure users while logging rounds at courses they have played; copyright remains with the user
  4. Stock photo libraries — such as Unsplash, used under their respective free-use licenses

Pure is a community tool that points players toward courses. We aim to drive interest and bookings to the courses we feature, not to compete with or substitute for their official media. Where possible we provide direct links to course websites for tee-time booking.

If you believe content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to the same email address.

Course Information (Text, Ratings, Descriptions)

Factual information about golf courses — names, locations, par, yardage, tee specifications, course architects, year built — is not copyrightable. Course descriptions, written fact entries, and editorial commentary in Pure are written by Pure's editorial team and the Pure user community.

If you believe a description contains inaccurate or defamatory information about a course, please contact us at the email above. We correct factual errors promptly.

Trademarks

Course names, logos, and brand marks belong to their respective owners. Pure uses these names solely for identification and to allow users to locate courses. We make no claim of affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.
